Transitional Line

2016

Corten steel sculpture in 2 sections, approx. 20 metres and 9 metres. Commissioned by Auckland Council and the Kaipatiki Local Board

Transitional Line is a site-specific work situated in an urban wetland park adjacent to Croftfield Lane, Auckland. The sculpture embodies movement through a space of constant change, referencing the fuction of this wetland as a transition between man-made, semi-industrial spaces and the ocean; and the pedestrians and cyclists who traverse the space whilst vehicles pass on adjacent roads. The form is based on a topographical map of the path of the Wairau Creek as it flows from Croftfield Lane to the ocean at Milford Marina.
